Game Recap

The Waggener Wildcats Girls’ Basketball team pulled out their second road win of the season against Jeffersontown on Friday night. Junior Guard Ne’zja Elliott got things started early with a defensive rebound and fast break layup to start the game. On the next possession, Senior Forward Tiara Biermacher connected on an old-fashioned three point play to give Waggener an early 5-0 lead. The Wildcats ended the first half with a 29-26 lead, due in part to Biermacher’s two 3-pointers and a collective 9/13 shooting from the free throw line. Despite a roaring fourth-quarter comeback by the Lady Chargers to cut a nine point lead down to three, the Wildcats were able to hold on by making free throws down the stretch. Elliott led all scorers with 24 points, while Biermacher recorded a triple-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 blocks. The Wildcats will be back in action on January 11 in a home contest against Oldham County.
