Game Recap

Fueled by the excitement of Homecoming, the Waggener Wildcats came out with a victory over district foe Seneca. Senior Tiara Biermacher and Juniors La’sha Dunn and Ne’zja Elliott combined to score 16 points in the first quarter, opening up the game with a 10 point lead. After finding themselves down by 10 at halftime, the Wildcats came out blazing with a 20-0 run to start the third quarter. Down the stretch, Waggener took advantage of the double bonus situation and knocked down free throws to seal the game. Elliott led all scorers with 24 points, while Biermacher finished with 14. Dunn had 12 points and shot 87.5% from the free throw line in the final quarter. With the win over the Redhawks, the Wildcats have clinched the #3 seed in the 27th District Tournament. Next up for the Wildcats is a home game against St. Francis on February 6 at 6:00 pm.
